Weeks ago, I initially queried the source of "reports" that the alleged thefts from Air Force One and the alleged trashing of the White House cost taxpayers $200,000.

No one could supply a valid source, other than right-wing rumor-monger Web sites. One person specifically cited Drudge.

I rest my case.

We have entered a Twilight Zone of sorts now, where reports and innuendo and hearsay are now considered true because reports of such are broadcast on talk shows such as Limbaugh's and Hannity's.

There's no attempt made by these right-wing "entertainers" (that's what they are ... entertainers ... they certainly are not legitimate media) to verify information.

If it sounds good, they run with it.

And 99% of the people on this board swallow it up, without even bothering to ask, "Is it true?"

Instead of declaring your unwavering support for the Republican Party, why don't you take a few minutes to comment on how the right wing in this country has denigrated to the point where truth no longer matters. All that matters is whether there's enough rumour to persecute whomever needs persecuting, as is evidenced by your closing comment that "He (Clinton) probably did take things from Air Force One."

Proof, please, in view of GWB's comment that "nothing was taken from Air Force One."
