Doesn't it kill you to be spoken to as "sir"?

I was at my son's Air Force Basic Military Training graduation this weekend (and boy did it feel weird for a pacificst and Vietnam War protestor to support his son's decision to go into the military!) and got "sirred" everywhere. After the first few times it started to feel okay. Actually pretty good. Of course it had nothing to do with my age, I'm sure. <g>

I'm fortunate to have a couple of friends that will tolerate such discussions. I keep track of some of them through the Internet. I've got one friend I've known for 15 years (10 of which have been primarily through email!)

I think the Internet opens a lot of doors to access minds that you'd never have access to through a face-to-face medium. Unfortunately, the quaint coffee-house like the people of "Friends" hang out is not a reality. We have to settle for the electronic Coffee Shop.

I like it, though. Very beat.

May not be the same for middle aged men, though....

I can assure you I don't get creeped out (maybe I should). I find it flattering and invigorating. Maybe even a little naughty and self-indulgent!
