Gus, I can probably hunt down Garth Gibson who wrote the seminal
RAID paper for his dissertation, which is now a book put out
by the MIT Press, and have him categorically state here that
RAID-0, striping, is the equivalent of RAID-OFF or the lack
of RAID. Without mirroring or parity, there is no redundancy.

Will that convince you?

You can probably call EMC Tech Support and maybe they'll get
you an engineer, that's still "on the island", and he or she
will give you the same answer.
