If you own a supermarket chain or hospital or mass volume restaurant chain the refurbish process has to be minimal.

Interesting that you chose those two examples because my husband who works only on commercial interiors does about 75% hospital interiors and the rest retail/ office spaces. Hospitals are finding that they have had to increase the rate at which they renovate primarily because there is an enormous need for the integration of new technologies and cost cutting efficiencies provided by better use of space. Two things that have nothing to do with stuff wearing out. Same thing with super markets. I don't know about where you are located, but around here there is a revolution in food retailing (heading towards higher margin preprepared foods) which has meant that all the supper market interiors have been redone or abandoned for new. You would be astounded at the speed of constructing a super market from blue print to check out line.
