Hi Cos
I called my kids rug rats, but I wouldn't run them through mazes or try new cancer drugs on them. Having said all that. What conclusion have you drawn? Are you advocating a cooked brain standard? Mine was cooked in the seventies, but that's another topic. Point is, humans experience a continuing stream of development, physically, mentally, and spiritually, from conception until death. If the point you choose as a cut off,(no pun intended), is simply an arbitrary one, then it is open to someone else to choose another point. If a child is able to survive outside of the womb, (and I do not advocate viability as "the" criteria for humanity), but if it is wrong to kill a child born prematurely at say, thirty weeks, why is it not wrong to kill a child of thirty weeks simply because of it's location?

If cognitive ability is your criteria, then what does that mean for the disabled? Can they just be killed? I tell you, they know what it means, abortion is just the thin edge of the wedge. The adopted may not all, be anti abortion, But I don't know any disabled groups who are not. They are already being Pre-screened and eliminated in the womb. They can tell they are next in line, (outside the womb), and I think they're right.
