Re ALA price -- it's 3:20 a.m. in Paris as I write this. Is ALA being traded in volume there at this hour? Were earlier trades after Nortel announcement likely to predict price during regular trading hours?

From what I can find concerning Nortel statements, it seems to me that there's a bit too much whining about the U.S. economy that might be better directed at management efficiencies at Nortel.

Statements from other sources about the U.S. economy in recent days seem to be focusing on the possibility of robust recovery in the second half. Nortel, meanwhile, is pointing to doom and gloom for at least three quarters. Someone is out of step here!

One of the things that's impressed me about ALA since my I moved over with NN is the fact the company has been quick to say, "We're doing fine" when others falter. I hope to see remarks to that effect in the next 24.

As for the Euro, it's at a 2001 low. A good thing for ALA sales and a possible source of appreciation later in the year.

IF ALA trades at 50 Euros tomorrow, that's US $45.

All so interesting. I need a drink :-)

Mike

zo, ALA is down 8.76% to 337.15FF. Using your statement, the substantial drop in Paris of 8.76% will dictate the trading level on the NYSE.

I am certain that everyone appreciates your ongoing efforts to try to convince us all that ALA should be immune from other companys' problems but, in so far as this morning is concerned, Paris is not listening to you.
