Re: If I had any faith in the story management is telling, I might feel differently - but over the last 18 months, they have shown that the guidance they provide, and their projections of future performance, are either incompetent or intentionally misleading.

As opposed the the highly accurate guidance every other tech giant has given us over the last several quarters? The universe of misses has been vast.

All that crap about ROIC and cash from operations does not make me a nickel. My investment in DELL has steadily decreased in value

You should have put your money into a winner like Cisco or the like... you'd be in much better shape today.

It's obvious you've been displeased with Dell's strategy for a while now which even to date is keeping them more profitable than their competitors. I guess it's a bad strategy allright. Why can't Compaq, the king of the high end enterprise 4/8 way WinTel servers, turn a better profit?

IMO, the biggest mistake the investing public makes is extrapolating today's trend into forever. That's what creates bubbles and causes busts which ultimately creates opportunity for solid companies.

Personally, if I had totally lost faith in the mgmt of a company, I wouldn't be "looking" for an exit strategy, I'd just get out and lick my wounds. If I thought management was as incompetent or as dishonest as you do, I wouldn't want to hang around at all to see my investment go to zero.
