Greetings JFred--

GOOF investing has worked well enough to counter a couple of dotcom debacles, thus my investment of time has yielded the equivalent of a money market account (over the past 2 or 3 years). Pretty discouraging. The good news is that I'm at the highest cash point I've ever been.

Opinion: It's probably time to get serious about some of the semiconductors (LRCX comes to mind... low 20's would be good). Communications equipment stocks are ripening nicely, but the time isn't quite yet.

Perhaps more GOOFY than GOOFI, I'm transforming half of my portfolio into an alternative fuel investment. Given a ten year time horizon, I'm convinced that energy use will transform our daily lives more than personal computers ever have. Fuel cells (I expect) will be more common place than cell phones, change our lives the way the automobile has.

Currently, I've nibbled at AVA (favorite), DCH (is it a scam or is it legitimate?), HPOW. Holdings that focus on energy, but fall outside the fuel cell realm include IMG, RTK (penny stock). Wind turbines, solar energy may have value, but I haven't moved any money into this area. More cash will be moved into this energy theme gradually.

Thanks for asking... and to return the inquiry... how about you? Weathered the storm? Do ya look at your portfolio with anticipation or dread?

Regards, TBG
