Comb,

My theory with most Republicans is that they will overlook anything and everything to get someone in who promises a tax cut.

Unfortunately, this makes intelligent political discourse impossible.

Combjelly Re..Of course, as before, I was talking about his lying about it. <<<<

What lying? AFAIK GW either didn't answer the question or admitted to it when asked the question. Where is the lying.

Besides the party affliliation of the guy that dug up the info, did they find any connection with the Gore campaign? <<<<

Yes, the person who reported it to the press did have connections to the democratic party as he was a contributor and a delegate to a past democratic convention. I do not know which convention.

Do you honestly believe he forgot something like this? <<<<<<<<<

I would consider it far more likely that I would forget that as opposed to a blow job in the office, or the definition of the word is.

<<<<<<. I would be interested in seeing where you got those figures. <<<<<<<<<

I thought your objection to that statement was that GW didn't want to restrict soft money when he talked to Al; but then later said he was for eliminating soft money. It was a private converstion. GW had no reason to lie there unless he felt that the 2 to one ratio was approx. correct. In fact, AFAIK it was Al who bought it up in his campaigns, in order to show GW was against eliminating soft money whereas Al proclaimed he was for it. I have no idea of the actual ratio.

<<<<When someone points at something, do you always look at their finger? Or did you honestly not understand what I posted? <<<<

Here is what you posted.

We all know that he transposes numbers and might not understand he had the figures reversed. <<<

To me transposing numbers means you reverse the numbers. For instance one might say that crime is up 3%, drugs are up 5%, when you actually meant to say crime is up 5%, drugs are up 3%. Thats is an honest mistake, especially if the second part of your statement is true;" and might not understand he had the figures transposed." I would suggest to you that a person who doesn't know he had the figures transposed made an honest mistake. It is the person who knows the figures are transposed who is the liar.

You are looking at my finger again. So what if he is a liberal? <<<<<<<<

Because liberals and conservatives almost always look at a statement and come up with different conclusions. You come up with a statement from a liberal stating that GW is the bbigger liar. I pointed out that the other newspaper in our town, concluded that Al was the bigger liar. Shouldn't one conclude that both are liars to some degree, and that the average politician lies. The question is. Does GW habitually lie. No. Does Al. no Does Bill? Yes.

But most politicians don't run a smear campaign where they lie about their opponent lying and present themselves as a straight shooter. And those that do, often don't run for President. <<<<<<

Where have you been the last 20 yrs. Politicians from president on down to dog catchers do that, republican or democrat.

I really don't see how you can label Bill a liar and give Smirk a bye. <<<<<

It is one thing when even your friends call you a liar, as opposed to your opponents. And if you don't think his friends have started to do that, you should have listened to the congressional hearings on the Rich pardon. When even your friends think you are a liar, you got problems.
