The problems WERE largely energy....problem is, though, energy difficulties are going to be with us a while...

I guess the old school says you strip out energy/food...don't know if you can do that anymore....(when does inflation not count as inflation?)

Also, December was revised up from flat to up 0.2%...

(This summer in California....oh boy)...

Just heard John Roque's comments: "How the COMPX reacts to Nortel...will determine whether or not we hold the January lows"...

I'd agree with that...with the caveat that Tues/Wed. next week just as crucial...as I said, I am looking for Naz to tank (down throughout afternoon, little rally, and then a tank, ending at the lows of the day)...down to low 2400's.....and maybe even 2300s today.

I just don't see what's going to hold us up from 2350-2450 (current level)..in the next few trading days....at 2350, technical guys will be getting nervous...and below 2300, we start the whole cycle of margin selling again..

(If the market can somehow hang in here...and be in the 2500s by next. Wed...then I'll gladly jump sides again- GG)
