This is on what the "rosy" projections are based:

To replicate a network with these numbers of pops, in a competing technology, would carry an aggregate cost north of 100 billion dollars. Therefore, Metricom/Ricochet has significant futuristic value as a wireless mobile internet access provider.

Of course that is if they can get financing and don't have to file for chapter 11 before they can complete the "network"<g>
