I think he was mortally wounded by going along with a tax increase ... maybe he would have got a few more brownie points by taking Sadam out. Mostly I think folks liked someone else who helped them lay the blame for their misery on Reagan-Bush ... "ran the country in the ditch" -- you still remember that line? I do ... Didn't mean to throw sticks -- W probably thinks a little like his Dad -- very few of us don't think like our parents to some degree -- unless we had no contact with 'em, but I don't think the insinuation that his Dad was pulling the string is a good one. JMHO ...
