The number of abortions necessary for medical, incestial and criminal reasons are small. The number of abortions as a means to make ones life
easier to enjoy is huge. The number of abortions necessary due to FAILED contraception is also small.

Are you willing to grant abortions for medical, incestial, criminal, and FAILED contraception reasons?

No, I am not equating the rights, I am arguing that there is a sliding scale of the rights that we give to a person.

And I am implying that the woman's rights supercede those of a cluster of cells. And more specifically, her rights supercede my right to tell her what to do with her body when it comes to that cluster of cells.

I do not equate a cluster of cells to be a person. I do believe that somewhere along the way through gestation, that cluster of cells does become a person. But I am not willing to impose my beliefs on someone else.

I think that society is much more decent today than it was 30 years ago. Less racism, less sexism....not completely gone by any stretch, but better. I don't worry about anybody making snide comments when we are out with our son and our niece who is half black and half white, my son's favorite babysitter (other than his grandmas) is a lesbian, my best friend is Mexican....and unless it is in the context of a response like this, I never even think about these things. I don't think that it would have been the same 30 years ago. And sure, we still have racists out there, we still have people who would villify a woman for rumored indiscretion while at the same time celebrating the man's actions, we still have people who wouldn't think of treating people who disagree with them with a little decency while arguing that a cluster of cells should be treated with decency, but for the most part, I believe that the world is getting better.
