Shootie,
I wish this issue was more black and white. But I see it as many shades of gray. I have stated that I understand the pro-life argument and I understand the pro-choice argument. I don't like the idea of using abortion as birth control either. But while this is still a gray issue, I like the idea of interferring with another person's individual decisions even less. To me, there is no question that the woman has a certain set of rights. To me, there is still a question as to what rights to apply to an embryo/fetus. I do not expect to change your views from being pro-life, but I would hope that our conversation could get us to a point where we could treat the people at the other side of the argument with that decency that you mentioned.

As you pointed out, motive is important. I would argue that the vast majority of pro-choice people do not have the motive of killing a human being. They draw the line at a different place than you do. There are some who subscribe to the ideology that every sperm and every egg is a potential human and therefore it is wrong to use contraceptives. Are we all then murderers because one group believes this?
