What, like Australia? They instituted strict gun bans and armed robbery went up 61%, firearms murders went up 19%, and home invasion went up 21% - After years of flat line crime statistics.

Here's the Aussie stat's page so you can see the stats from 1915 - 1998:

Why is it that the US has a hand gun death rate orders of magnitude higher than other educated nations.

Actually this would be because of inner city gang bangers, who all have felony convictions, can't own guns legally, don't buy them legally (because they would be unable to), shooting each other. Since the liberal legal system can't do anything with them shooting each other isn't an all bad thing IMO.

Gun ownership in DC is the lowest per capita in the nation yet sports the highest murder rate. Why is that? I think Montana has the highest ownership per capita yet has the lowest murder rate. Why is that?

When people like yourself figure out that it isn't guns that are the problem, the closer we will be to solving our problems. Guns are just tools and shouldn't be blamed for the bad behavior of people who break the law.

If we were able to eliminate every gun in LA (which we can't), do you think the gangs would stop killing each other? I would propose to you that the killing would continue using some other method. After the horrible shooting in CO people were lining up at the gates to pass more gun laws. Forgotten in all of the conversation was the fact that those kids had already broken 36 different gun and explosives laws. Do you really think a few more laws would have deterred them?

Try to think this through honestly without falling back on just plain old rhetoric and we will get closer to looking at the real problems.
