JRI, I like that theory. (Law of numbers)
Once companies get too big, there was too much growth, far too fast, and it is time for a recession to put them back where they belong. (My intrepretation of your "Law of Numbers").
Hopefully this sums up the law of numbers accurately. ggg

Something else to ponder.
Damn have we seen a lot of theories here in the last couple days. Yours, mine, Greg's others. LOL

How about a law of theories. The absolute bottom of the market is within 3-6 months of when theories come out of the woodwork as to ....

1) What went wrong
2) How much longer it will go on
3) Where the bottom will be
4) Who will be the first to recover

Today was the first concession from many bulls that things could get a lot worse. Denial has stopped and reality has set in.

Another theory:
The law of denial.
Once the denial phase is over .....
The end must be near.

GE has been the one of the only large ones to be able to preform year in and year out and grow at decent rate.
