Yeah, that's right, he was the one who earned the money - and therefore the one who decides its disposition after his death. You lump all people with money into the elite, which smacks of stereotyping and (gasp) profiling. I am not wealthy, nor is my family but I do work 6-1/2 days a week full time, on average, in foreign countries, some of them real sh*tholes, sometimes at personal risk. And yet, in spite of the fact that I am home in the states less than 4 weeks out of the year, and that my wages are earned overseas, the US takes the lion's share of my earnings in the form of taxes. That's called "taxation without representation". Do a word search in your Encarta to see where in US history that phrase was coined. My mom, bless her, has had the good fortune after a lifetime of work (along with my dead father) to have a nice home which, at current valuation, exceeds the current estate values. Nothing flashy, but guess what - it's been in the family since the 1800's and won't be coming to any of us, rather a good part of its proceeds will go to uncle sam upon her death. We live in a tax culture, and I for one am one of the aware and intend to be vocal about it. There's no way the government should have the right to suck the sweat off hard workers to the extent that it does. I hope GWB establishes a flat tax, eliminates the loopholes that are the refuges of scoundrels, and restores sanity to our society. Good luck and don't forget to let us know your thoughts on the E-Tax. Aggie
