I don't believe this has been discussed on the thread, but the PPI announcement this Friday was a real shocker. I don't spend an overt amount of time on monthly statistics, but this could have long term implications if it becomes a trend.

Looking at the chart, the 1.1 (.7 adjusted) PPI for January came out of nowhere. I tend to think it was a fluke. Time will tell, of course, but a resurgence of inflation would tie Greenspan's hands in a big way.

That report aside, I agree that it is only a matter of time before the rate cuts take effect and the economy improves.

With low inflation, of course <g>.
