Yes, it was like today's AMC cable channel in a way, but interrupted by some classic and not so classic commercials of course..... Duck Soup is one of my all-time favorites! The Marx Brothers special AMC has on every so often is well worth waiting for..... WWOR channel 9 (now UPN9 ?) used to show some great classics also, and a real gas was the Joe Franklin Show where one could learn a lot about the classic singers and movie stars. He had the longest running TV show in history I believe, and he is still on Sunday mornings from midnight to 4am on WOR-AM radio in NYC. Saturday Nite Live used to do hilarious parodies of his show, but you really had to know the show pretty well to get it and have a good laugh.....
