It doesn't MATTER what you would have done, the point is the paramedics who WERE there did nothing.

Yes, I don't know why they didn't take their child to the hospital right away...sounds like a sad chain of events that started with the doctor making the wrong diagnosis...

P.S. I believe it has to do with cultural values. For example, Chinese people tend to trust doctors and do not seek second opinions. I imagine it is the same for most immigrants. They do not want to be pushy or aggressive, and this time, it cost a decent couple their baby.
