D.Long: One question: When that whacko who just recently showed up at the White House with a gun, and was shot by police, bought a gun, he seemed to pass the background check with no trouble at all. Yet once he was identified the news organizations and police seemed to have no trouble figuring out that he had a history of mental illness, information that was immediately broadcast to us all. If it was so easy for them to figure out this guy had no business owning a gun, why was it sold to him? Because the dealer did not have that info, or because the dealer overlooked certain facts for the sake of the sale?
