I said you have let your hatred of GW overshadow any sense of patriotism. I did not attack your patriotism. I said that your posts conveyed that. I also said Maybe it is time to examine your positions and see if they also are controlled by the hatred, rather than they are the right thing to do. <<<< In that sentence I was asking if you shouldn't reexamine your positions with that in mind? I was not, I repeat, I was not attacking your patriotism, I was attacking your hatred of GW; and wondering if that hatred hasn't unwittingly made you seem unpatriotic. . Perhaps if you would have accepted my post in the spirit it was given, you wouldn't need to answer questions about your patriotism now.

As much as I dislike Bush, if he were to do something that I thought was appropriate I would be supportive. However, the truth is is that his beliefs/values are not mine and so I find his early political iniatives distasteful. And I am threatened and disturbed by the lack of finess he has shown to date when it comes to international relations and interactions.

Finally, I was surprised and disappointed that in this recent sub incident he had a spokesperson from defense contact Japan's prime minister rather than himself, and that the prime minister was not kept updated but rather was learning new aspects of the incident from the American press. BTW this is not a complaint against international relations, but rather I thought it was sad commentary on his lack of senstivity? compassion? courtesy? by handling the incident in this way.

Kind of like your neighbor sending over his kid to tell you that his tree has fallen on your house. Certainly, not the end of the world but on his level, something you would hope would not happen.
