"25 yrs ago, DUI's weren't considered that serious of an offense."

Okay, you assert that being hauled down to the station, having your BAC measured and then later having your license revoked for 18 months and paying a $150 fine (closer to $450 in 2001 dollars) is a trivial thing, I don't know what to say. Admittedly having another license took a lot of the sting out of it, but still.

"I did take going to school and becoming educated seriously"

Now what in my responses gave you the impression that I don't take education seriously? First grade for me was some 38 years ago and after I learned to read I starting educating myself. So grades were not that big a thing in public school. Since I was reading newspapers and "US News and World Report" by the second grade, my parents didn't worry about grades all that much. Now in 1976 I was going for my degree in Marine Science. In the spring, I was taking Technical Writing-B, Calculus I-A, Government-B, Organic Chemistry-B (all that synthesis) and Field Methods-B (6 hour lab).

Hmaly,
RE: "DUI's weren't considered that serious of an offense"

Do you live in the beer State?

RE: "I don't know about you"

I would recommend you not be resistant to information that conveys your response is inappropriate, but rather, spend some time to reflect upon your values in this particular area.

Regards,
Amy J
