Ibexx, I believe that the "Irrational Exuberance" snipet was uttered by AG at a Francis Bayer Award dinner of the American Enterprise Institute, early in December 1996. The Dow, next day plunged 145 point initially and recovered to down 55 closing at 6380 or so. The S&P 500 was in the rough range of 720 to 760. Sorry but I can't be much more accurate from memory.
