If you hear a ceo or analyst over using a word or expression, chances are others are too.

Anyone who can avoid getting sucked into the buzzword or catch phrase parrot syndrome has a better chance of being seen as more genuine and unfazed by trendiness.

So: "at the end of the day", "it's the (..........) stupid", that "going forward" makes these people disingenuous. "Having said that", are there any more vacuous phrases that annoy you ?

Post them here.

Acceptable alternatives to above expressions:

'going forward' : 'In the coming (weeks, months, year, qtr.)', 'looking ahead', etc.

'having said that': 'on the other hand', 'still', 'maybe', 'but' or any other way to qualify
your statement without sounding like your about to contradict yourself.

"It's the (....) stupid": somebody please make this moronic expression go away !

"at the end of the day": somebody please make this moronic expression go away !
