Been sorta busy with installs/upgrades lately. Either the software is getting more user friendly for installs or my computer literacy rate has increased exponentially.

I believe it is more to do with the latter then the former.

I just wanted to point this out as I feel pretty good about it and it may push some to continue their computer learning. It is very much worth the effort to understand your system.

Not yet. Had problems with the notebook PCMCIA card setup.

Finally got the homenet working so I can hook/unhook the notebook from the tower without the whole thing crashing and haven't yet bought the replacement battery.

That adventure is still on the map, though. Maybe next week-end depending on granny's plans.
