toscano,
I guess the thing that bugs me the most about AJ's posts is that I think that Ayn Rand had some valuable insights (she was also a bit of a nutball). It disappoints me that someone who seemingly has the same philosophical base that I do, would resort to intimidation tactics like that because of political disagreements. And that is what it is, intimidation. Just like when a link to a friend at the SEC is posted with a threat to have them look into that person, it is a way to warn the person not to fight back or they will come under official scrutiny. And they might say, "hey, if they have done nothing wrong, what are they worried about?", but that is BS. The stress and effort in defending oneself is still there even when there is no dirty dealings going on. This isn't the first time that this tactic has been used on Poet and I find it disgusting. If someone can't confront the issues at hand and has to resort to innuendo and threats, obviously the foundation of their position is pretty weak.

Anybody that pulls that kind of crap should be shunned by the community, so maybe your idea of just ignoring him is the right one.
