Actually I was surprised when the guy said that Chase doesn't sell its mortgages, because I thought everyone did.

I was comparison shopping for closing costs, and one lady told me over the phone that if we refinanced with someone who wasn't our original lender, we'd have to pay state and local taxes, but if we went with the original lender we wouldn't - - otherwise, I wouldn't really care. Not sure if she's right, though, it doesn't make sense to me.

I thought that happens more with "B" and "C" paper. Chase probably doesn't do as much. They probably mainly deal with "A" paper.
