Earley, > Joe is paying over 30% of his income for taxes

Joe pays a "lot" more than 30% in taxes. We have taxes on energy (electricity & natural gas), gas taxes, state consumption tax (here in MN 6%), real-estate taxes, cable TV taxes, telephone taxes, taxes on airfare, etc. And then the state and federal income taxes. There is also social security tax and Medicare tax. I know we pay over 50% in taxes but I have not looked at what the real number is in the last couple of years.

Another source of revenue for the states is gambling. Tax on casinos and of course the lottery.

During the last 20 years the governments here in the states have has an appetite for stealing from its citizens.
