Disagree,

if he believes that, GET OUT OF MARKET. Higher multiples will always work against you in a volatile market. Writing calls at the lower in of the spectrum paying the same percent is far safer IF it is premium maximizing that you want.

Perhaps the confusion is between the person who holds the common for the long term vs. the person that buys it to cover the short call on a case-by-case basis. As long term players, we are in agreement.

I see Voltaire's point about premium. He's writing for the trade in a sense. We're writing to produce income to go along with our long term positions.
