RE: "that I'm talking about, such as your criticism of Reagan's military spending."

Hi Ten,

Did you read the article?

I would suggest you read all 4 or 5 articles on CNN (after work, of course) - they are very interesting because they cover Germany, USSR, and USA Intelligence organizations.

Regards,
Amy J

Ten,

As the CIA analyst pointed out, Reagan's strategy vs. Russia was not based on real intelligence information.

In the 80's we were so afraid of the Soviets that we thought losing a basketball or hockey match was catastrophic.

How much more insecure and paranoid can you get? I know a Brit who planned his return trip to England before the Olympics last summer, just so that he could see other countries compete.

Bush is clearly afraid of other countries, carrying on the long-standing Republican tradition of isolationism and paranoia.

Yes, yes, Scumbria, I understand your sympathy for the actions of the Soviet Union. It's the sizable leap in logic you make from this to your other political viewpoints that I'm talking about, such as your criticism of Reagan's military spending.

Tenchusatsu,

Did you bother to read the link that Amy provided?

If you had, you would have seen its not a leap at all....Reagan's military buildup was total waste of our good $$$ and probably stemmed from his own personal paranoia.
