Later beans.

Have fun...sounds like a good weekend...and certainly let us all know how cheaply it can be done. I have a feeling many will be joining you on the el cheapo ride. And yes, we need, must have, real time streaming charts complete with indicators.

Quotes alone will not do.

I like IB as well. They have been very reliable - by far the most reliable broker of any type I've had. I only use them for futures however - I think folks that trade stocks there occasionally run into gotyas although it seems that the general concensus on the stock side is positive too.

I used to lean on the IB interface to follow price in fast markets because for a while I was also using Quote.com for charts and to feed Tradestation - in fast markets quote.com is frequently delayed although the new IP feed seemed to resolve that.

Moved away from Quote.com, I think they are a particularily poorly managed company. eSignal gets my dollars now and their data is excellent, truly excellent. Their charts are clunky in some respects but I have found that I can set up a working environment in eSignal charts that meets my needs. Plus it feeds Tradestation too and I spend most of my trading day there anyways.

But still in IB I watch the bid and ask size and where price is leaning. Its a good habit to be in, because no data feed is perfect. And it imparts additional information not found in the bar itself...
