prophet_often, I hate to say it, but I think he nailed it. My only question is whether comparing the irresponsibility of the S&L debacle and the irresponsibility of lending that's taken place over the last few years, mister Jones may be a little optimistic about the possible magnitude and damage the recent "mania" may inflict on the economy and the stock market? I could be wrong (and I hope I am), but the amount of money that banks and investment houses have thrown down this black hole appears to potentially dwarf the S&L nonsense. Interesting read.
