Eric, I think that Nokia actually is active in the Japanese market, but not to win so much as to learn. I'm pretty sure that they've established operations in Japan and are marketing a couple phones specifically tailored to the Japanese market to learn about Japan's unique three month product cycles, how to exist in that sort of environment, and their Japanese competitors strengths and weaknesses. Know thine enemy well. I wonder if the Japanese are doing likewise in Helsinki. I suspect not.
