Harry,

Glad to see we found an area of agreement.

In the mid 1980's I taught at private boarding school in Arizona, which was largely financed by the State of California. Most of the students were sent there by California, for the express purpose of keeping them out of the California school system.

You can imagine the type of kids there. I loved the job and was very good at it, but realized that I could not support a family on the salary. I went back to school, got my Master's in EE, and have been in the engineering/management business since.

It is a shame that top people are encouraged to leave the teaching profession. Twenty years from now, no one will care about any of the microprocessors I designed, but the kids I taught will be having an important impact on society.

Which job is more important?
