Greg,

I saw DDR for the first time in mid-October at MPF.

I was told there that AMD would do a launch with Micron in the Nov-Dec time frame.

That happened, and I bought one of the Micron systems in mid-December.

It is now only 8 weeks later, and a tier one is selling DDR systems.

It looks to me like the launch is going great.

CW,

Now that a tier 1 supplier is offering DDR systems... how long did it take from the launch?

3 months, 3 weeks. And they now have a single tier 1 vendor supporting DDR (actually, I haven't read the news yet -- Gene's link didn't work for me, and I'm only answering the direct posts at this time -- so I don't know what Compaq's ship date is).

Rambus had more tier 1 vendors shipping RDRAM-based systems on the first day.
