THE VIEW FROM THE CATHOUSE

Doug,

"If the market allows"
Big If. Hyper-bearish indicator today (at least to my cat-scratch-fevered mind) is INTC, which is hitting new lows on average volume. So far, INTC's cat-signals have been the best "bellwether" I've found. They caught the market's only three bounces since August:
siliconinvestor.com
(compare that to:http://www.siliconinvestor.com/research/comp_chart.gsp?s=COMPX+intc)
each for the requisite mid-20% worth, and would've also provided iron-clad sell/short signals. The probable lack of signal today, plus the fact that INTC is challenging support from mid-98 (or did it go through today?)
siliconinvestor.com
again on such lazy volume (looks to be only 60 million today) is worrisome for the near future. If the Naz breaks 2000 there might be some real panic selling. (Yum.)
But that's just my two whiskers' worth.

Miao,
Ivan

AFTER THEY'VE SOLD THE NEWS

Doug,

I'm wondering if there might not be a "trick" to be found with this scenario:
siliconinvestor.com
People are "buying on the rumor" of FDA approval here from 2/13 to 2/16. It comes, then the stock plops 25% over three days "on the news." That's fine and dandy. I was wondering if there wasn't some TA discoverable (some three-day RSI-type of thing?) that might determine when to play the post-sell-on-the-news-bounce. Then I thought, "Hmm, don't I know a guy who does this kinda stuff?"
