Colleen can pick her lemons. Mama dove won't leave long. I've had doves land on the deck while I've been sitting there. I've been within 2' of our barn swallows and not had them leave the nest. My mother's cousin had a morning dove as a pet. The dove would spend the night on the mantle and the days in it's cage. Just flew back and forth. She also had peacocks and 300 parakeets. And a tarantula that would sit on the back of her hand. She and her husband were the first civilians to drive the Alcan highway. Her husband had lost a hand to a combine. They took a pickup truck and had it made into a motor home. This was way back like 19 and 50. They pulled a Jeep and where the water crossed the road they ran the Jeep across with a cable. Rock road and the tires of the day required them to take one mounted tire for every tire on the vehicles. Gas was rare so they carried a bunch or Jerry Cans. It took them two weeks to get to Alaska.
