Thomas was a conservative and with the benefit of modern science would likely hold with an even earlier definition of personhood than "kicking in the womb".

BTW the net doesn't really differentiate between a bosal and a hackamore and in fact kind of runs them together, so what's the "real" story, as you're probably a horse person.
