100cfm: Suggest that in the real world, what is more likely than GPRS cancellations will be GPRS disuse.

The cost of installation of an upgrade of GSM infrastructure to accomodate GPRS is not great as I understand it, and many are underway and/or complete.

But just because they are installed does not mean they need to be used.

In addition, the Qualcomm "white paper" (yet to be seen by us) is reported to say that 1xEV can be used alongside and in parallel with GSM/GPRS as well as with GSM alone.

So don't expect much change in plan re GPRS infrastructure.

GPRS handsets are very much another matter.

The GPRS handset sales (the number and rate) will be a major clue IMO.

Best.
