Probably the fondest memories I have of our cat was when I was in University and needed to start work at 4:00 AM to get computer time. The house would be dark, The Commander would be snoring, and I'd be sitting at my desk. Our cat would climb into my lap and purr as I worked. Since the house would feel so cold and quiet otherwise, I had a sense that I wasn't isolated on some uninhabited planet or something. It was a comfort which helped me through a difficult time.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Grey and white domestic short hair named Muffin.

I have always wanted a Maine coon cat, but we keep taking in strays, so we always have a full house. Right now six, and my husband says that's too many, although he doesn't mean it. We get them spayed, so it was really a treat to take in a calico mama and her three orange kittens, only about eight weeks old, last year. They were in the care of the lady who installed my phones, someone abandoned them and she wound up with them but couldn't keep them, so when she found out I love cats brought the entire litter for me to look them over and pick one. I couldn't make up my mind so I took them all, and am so glad that I did. I had the mama and Kiwi spayed and Arthur and William neutered, so we won't have any more kittens for a while.

I still call them kittens but I guess they are full grown. They seem small to me, their heads especially, compared to Eleanor, a brown tabby we've had for about ten years. The sixth is Fuzzie, a purebred Himalayan. My younger son saw one when he was small and fell in love with it because it had blue eyes, and he has blue eyes, so he asked that Santa bring him a "blue eyes cat with a dirty nose." I think that was ten years ago, too.

Hi Ga~ the brown bag idea sounds like a wonderful idea! Maybe the teacher will share it with other teachers...
And Bingo is nearly 3 times the size of our little Papillion....Prince would probably think Bingo was lots of fun to play with, until she fussed and hissed at him....
