King cake! Just the thing. Do you prefer the traditional style, or do you like it with a filling? I always thought traditional style was too dry, so I liked it better with a filling, cream cheese or almond were my favorites - but I don't like things as sweet as I used to.

One of the nice things about working in New Orleans is that people take turns bringing the king cake, so you get to try them from different bakeries. I always used to get mine from Gambino's, but I like Haydel's and Lawrence's and Randazzo's, too. McKenzie's are traditional, and I have heard that they have improved their recipe.

Can't find Lawrence's on-line. Guess not everyone is on-line yet.
