In looking at those sites above, if you also look at the november and december data, it's kind of odd they chose the timeframe of Jan thru Oct for a Feb 2001 article. That same stat showed larger than average increases for Nov and Dec. But I guess including that data they wouldn't allow a spin of the downside as much.
