We live in different areas of the country. Believe me, right-wing "hate radio" is alive and quite well in Cincinnati. Last week a longtime, well-respected, African-American federal judge, in a speech before a civic group, sternly rebuked a talk-show host on WLW (the big station in town) for his on-air bashing. The judge said that the talk-show host was dividing the black and white community through his continuous inflammatory comments.

Example No. 2: New nighttime DJ at same radio station referred to Japanese people as "little yellow monkeys" during a call-in show last week. Used the term several times.

The danger from what I describe above is that AM radio jocks are pushing the envelope farther and farther in the name of ratings. There's no attempt to tell both sides of the story. Just see how inflammatory you can make it for the sake of ratings.

That's the guiding principle nowadays. And the man that started it all (Limbo) is still on every day, from noon to 3, giving all the right-wingers their daily fix.

It's really sad how far into the sewer AM radio has sunk.
