I think the gaffe-o-meter will be an important measure of the Bush presidency. If he's perceived as doing well and being a strong leader, his gaffes will be overlooked and automatically corrected, and he will acquire teflon, as Reagan did. If he's perceived as not doing well, the gaffes will be regularly reported, especially gaffes that relate to Bush's lack of understanding on policy matters. Those gaffes are more serious than his daily collisions with English grammar.
