regarding changing icons....

today when i booted into safe mode, then rebooted back to my normal windows desk top, all icons were scrunched up in the corner. even clicking 'refresh' in the desktop properties menu did not reset them like they were. and i stayed away from the 'arrange' choices, because none of them ever put the icons back where i placed them.

then, just as i was reading your post about company logo icons (like yahoo), i checked one of my folders with some yahoo sites in it and the red icons had been replaced by the msie ones, just as you alluded to. i was ready to attribute these two occurrences (desk top rearrangement and lost company logo icons) to my journey into safe mode, that is until i started reading of others here who are seeing the same thing.

by any chance, are you all booting into safe mode? <g3>

btw, i consider myself blessed computer-wise to be experiencing only these little icon inconsistencies.

:)

Unless you use the method described on the linked page to change icons for folders and shortcuts then they will not hold and will default to your browsers icon.

Esteban,

RE>changing icons

Same as you, the icons only lasted a couple of days.
