Frank,

You wrote, "Presumably these people have at least some money to invest so they must have at least a modicum of intellect."

I don't think that equation equates. Many very smart people (on an intellectual level) have very little money. Similarly, there's a whole lotta morons with moolah.

As for the future of moderated boards, I'm only concerned with this one at the moment. Via p.m. I would like to solicit any suggestions for improvements, etc., keeping in mind that I don't want to do much except as necessary. I'm not soliciting positive feedback--I will assume by the record of posters and posting, that people are generally satisfied here.

frank,

having attempted over the years to read the yahoo boards i became convinced that a lot of adolescent boys were posting there. i don't mean that in a coyly pejorative way; i think it is literally true. i could find no other explanation. the yahoo posters are often simply further out on the continuum of puerile nonsense that drove us from drilling to here. while there are good and knowledgable posters on yahoo their content is simply overwhelmed by these psycho-fascist kiddies. (gor bless the guvnor, k.b.)

while i am here - i must say i am not getting much feedback on the watch list biz. i appeal to you lurkers to pony up now and work on some lists if you have fields of expertise, or just interest. don't be afraid of looking like an idiot in public; i do it all the time right here on stage center. public washing of linen is acceptable, and it cleanses the soul, too - just go read the old drilling thread if you want to see what an affliction carrying an excess of ego can be.

i, again, post my storage list. i believe you can access all the other lists, phone, optix, etc. from this url, too. some have odd names as i have lists here that i do not quite know what they are. hit 'dons' on the views and you can see how i set up the info. the parameters are open to other variations.

thanks, don

p.s. anybody still going to the rig party??

Hi Frank! Congradulations, (as we say here in the South - our keyboards spell with an accent), on your recent success.

The Yahoo boards, for the most part, are of very little use anymore. You have to swim through a hundred posts to find one informative post. I don't read Yahoo anymore. I prefer the moderated boards if for nothing else, it limits a lot of noise which is distracting when you're looking for ideas, insights and overall consensus thoughts regarding the market.

I believe people have the right to post what they want, it is a public board, but others have a right to go where the environment is more conducive to their goals and objectives.

I'm thankful to KB for starting this board. Does that make me a sycophant? <g>
