<<It is funny how the liberals love to complain about the tax cuts going to the rich. Why is it that during all the years they were in power they never offered to cut the taxes for the poor and middle class>> I also remember how in the late 70's and early 80's, they were fat and happy when inflation kept pushing everyone into higher tax brackets when their actual buying power was going down. The liberals fought indexing tax rates to inflation for a long time.

Clinton did cut income tax rates for the poor and increased the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is a negative tax for the working poor. Bush's proposed tax cut gives 43% of the cut to the wealthiest 1% of tax payers, who pay 21% of the tax bill. All a matter of priorities, I guess.
