Recall that debt issues were made outside the US. There is a reason for that....

Morgan Stanley raised the ist billion here in the USA. The 2nd $700 million were in euro's.
Morgan Stanley felt the Amzn's expansion into Europe would make it more attractive to european investors than back here in the USA.
I believe its safe to say never has a company received such favorable terms on junk bonds...that's why Bezos went that route rather than issuing more stock.
