Actually BB, I now work at an Oakland-based think-tank which does case studies on the best practices of old economy dinosaurs. It is the anti-SF-Dot-Com-Scient-Bullshitting-Firm.... that is our tag line.

TD and NN were just momentum players and are now climbing all over each other to bid the trucking stocks up to new highs.

I will see you on Mission & 25th this summer for the best burrito in town.

When to plug your nose and buy? Let's put it this way.... The fed can fall behind, the fed can make mistakes but in the long-run, the fed never loses. If the fed loses, that means we are in a Japan style economy and that seems pretty far-fetched given the structural differences in how business is conducted.

Business couldn't be worse for the companies I follow. Spending freezes by customers, layoffs, reduced forecasts. Can't find anything to buy because the fundy's are that bad. However, after this quarters results are in the market, it's time to buy. My guess is that we start to rise simultaneously with that (early April). Buy good companies once they reset expectations because the information risk is reduced and I see lots of companies trading near trough valuations. I have covered my puts and dying to cover shorts but I am going to do this incrementally and get long. For now though, focus on March Madness. Kansas/Illinois game should be good.

Is anyone on this thread willing to talk to the Senate Banking Committee?

I've been researching so called "Hedge Funds" and Securities Lending Laws for two years now.

I've collected a fair amount of information and anecdotal evidence regarding price manipulation of small cap companies by "Hedge Funds". But I really need an insider to help me out.

If you have a conscience and would be willing to help me out...I'd appreciate it.
